Here, you can see the materials required for this project
First, you decide on the placement of the embroidery design on the T-shirt. After you choose where the design should be embroidered, a (water-soluble) stabilizer needs to be placed between the layers of the T-shirt and above the bottom half of the magnetic embroidery frame, which also needs to be positioned inside the shirt. Other frames can be used as well, depending on the embroidery machine you’ll be using.
After you have positioned everything, place the other half of the magnetic frame outside the T-shirt, on top of the bottom half. To tighten the fabric within the frame, pull on the fabric outside the frame until a canvas-like tension is achieved.
Place the frame with the stretched T-shirt into the embroidery maschine. A big, industrial embroidery maschine, as to be seen here, is not mandatory for embroidering motives on shirts. A regular household embroidery machine can be used as well.
Position the needle and check if the placement of the machine and frame is correct, so your design won’t be embroidered crookedly and the machine doesn’t accidentally stitch outside the frame, which can cause damage. Thread the machine with a colored thread of your choice. Select the design file on the machine’s screen and start embroidering!
After the machine has finished embroidering, remove the frame. Now you can see if the embroidery turned out as you imagined!
Next, turn the T-shirt inside out so that the stabilizer is exposed. Cut the stabilizer close to the embroidered design, being careful not to cut into your T-shirt! If the stabilizer you used is water-soluble, simply place your shirt in the sink and wash away the stabilizer, leaving only the design without any residue. Congratulations, you’ve completed your embroidery project!
